The river Emscher
can be found only a fe hundreds of meters in the north of
the Rhine - Herne - canal.
The river sould give its name to the new town "Emschertal"
(Valley of the Emscher), consisting the towns Wanne - Eickel,
Herne and Castrop - Rauxel. But
the politics changed.
But the quality of the water of the former most dirty river
of Germany should become better. Perhaps trouts will be
find there again one day.
The Rhine - Herne
- canal going from Duisburg about Wanne - Eickel up to the
ship lifting device Henrichenburg is not only a pure industrial
water indeed.
The canal offers
fisherman, aquatic sportsmen and tourism a home.
